bare Earth design
bare Earth design is a local family run business specializing in handcrafted eco-friendly furniture, cabinetry and architectural elements. bare Earth was born out of a heartfelt passion for the environment and the understanding that “We do not inherit this Earth from our ancestors we borrow it from our children.” –Indian proverb With that being said, bare Earth helps create living spaces that allow us to be in harmony with nature by bringing the outside in and doing our part to minimize our environmental impact.
bare Earth supports environmentally responsible sustainable forestry practices by utilizing FSC certified materials and reclaimed products. All of our designs are finished using low VOC, non-toxic finishes & soy-based adhesives. We work closely with the local community by both buying and selling locally. We pride ourselves in creating a production process that yields zero to minimal waste by recycling and giving new life to useable scrap wood. By doing this our designs have distinct character with a visible sense of history.
bare Earth utilizes domestic hardwood such as walnut, maple & cherry, responsible composite materials like Kirei, bamboo, PureBond: Formaldehyde-free plywood and natural fabrics such as hemp & organic cotton. We are always in search of new products and visit local scrap yards for both inspiration and materials.
bare Earth wants to shift the way we view green design and help people understand that being green does not mean sacrifice. It is our fundamental belief that superior craftsmanship involves production that creates timeless masterpieces while leaving a minimal environmental footprint.
